Since its inception in 2003, the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies work on achieving a better understanding of genetic disorders suffered by the Arab population. This initiative is gaining greater importance given the high inbreeding spread significantly between Arab societies ratio, an official agent directly about the increasing incidence of genetic disorders; and though it already has made efforts to develop a list of disorders Genetic among the Arabs, however, until a few years ago, there have been no tangible results.
