MYEOV gene is located in 11q13 chromosomal region, which has been linked to several human malignancies. Reports show that MYEOV is overexpressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinomas, colorectal cancer, and primary plasma cell leukemia. MYEOV has been observed to coamplify with CCND1 – another gene located  in the 11q13 chromosomal region – in several primary tumors and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cell lines. The predicted protein has a RNP1 motif observed in canonical RNA-binding domains.
