The Pan Arab Human Genetics Conference (PAHGC) is a biennial event organized by CAGS. This event provides a common platform to bring together regional and international geneticists to share their knowledge and to discuss common issues. Undoubtedly, the organization of this conference series has been a huge contribution of CAGS towards the study of human genetics in the region and this conference has become one of the most awaited events in the calendar of human genetics. The value of such an event is not limited to its role in augmenting high quality genetic research in a number of developing countries, but also in inspiring more and more young local researchers to specialize in this highly relevant path of science. The latter notion is particularly true for Arab populations where generally higher prevalence rates of genetic disorders are observed. To combat such trend more and more local specialists need to cooperate to the maximum using platforms such as PAHGC.
