Dr. Youssef Abdul Razzaq Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, said that Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has come a long way since its inception in 2000, was not the achievements that possible without the generosity of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has been to encourage and support research and innovation in the field of medicine and the development of health care in the United Arab Emirates.

He pointed out that His Highness Sheikh Hamdan taking the initiative to create the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies in order to meet the financial and technical needs and requirements of search specialists and infrastructure in the entire Arab world in this vital research area. Dr. Taleb added: "We are confident that this figure for the Arab world will change once our project to expand to include other Arab countries."
